What Is Freelance Writers Den?

I’ve been a freelance writer for a decade now, and over the years, I have been part of communities of writers like me.

It didn’t start that way, though. When I first started, I thought I could do it on my own.

One of the things I love about being a freelance writer is that it lets me work in peace. Over time, I learned that even though I am my own boss,

I couldn’t thrive if I did this all alone.

I realized I needed to surround myself with like-minded people who would either mentor me or simply push me to be the best version of myself as a freelancer.

Then I was introduced to Freelance Writers Den. But what is Freelance Writers Den?

How did it help me over the years and how will it benefit you as a freelance writer?

About Freelance Writers Den

You can think of Freelance Writers Den like a club, only that it meets online.

I would say that it’s the perfect place for writers to find the best resources for writers on the Internet.

As of today, Freelance Writers Den has a member of over 1,5000 writers from all across the planet.

That’s right.

How Much Do Content Writer Get Paid?

Joining FWD will allow you to get to know writers from every country in the world and share insights and exchange ideas with them.

The Den, as we call it, started in 2011.

It was founded by Carol Tice, author of the top-rated Make a Living Writing blog site.

Carol has been a freelancer for nearly 20 years now and is known as a six-figure earner in the world of freelance writing.

To share her knowledge with the entire freelance writing world, Carol Tice founded the Freelance Writers Den, which eventually became a home for thousands of freelance writers from all across the globe.

Freelance Writers Den Features

Perhaps you’re wondering what features the Den offers its members.

As a freelance writer, you most definitely understand that writing isn’t something that will get you rich overnight.

That said, when we decide to sign up for something like FWD, we want to make sure that we get what we pay for.

How to Be a Well-Paid Freelance BloggerFor your $25-a-month membership with Freelance Writers Den, you actually get more than you pay for.

For one, you get to access online community forums.

Every once in a while, we writers need fresh eyes to review our work for us or someone who’d just be there to encourage and affirm us.

That’s where the FWD community forums come in.

I’ve never seen an online community forum as active as that of FWD.

The members are very friendly and helpful.

No one in the community is there just to take.

Members are all eager to share what they know as long as they know it’s going to help their fellow writers get to the next level in their career.

You can ask questions in the forum or even answer some or share your insights or stories about success and mistakes to avoid.

Aside from the forum, Freelance Writers Den also has a lot of video resources both live and recorded.

While FWD is primarily a community that offers you the ability to connect with other freelance writers in real-time, the site also offers 300 hours of resources and a calendar of live events updated regularly.

Boot camps are available, too, if you’re looking for e-courses.

And guess what?

Your membership provides you with instant access to a couple of dozen of these resources.

30 Free Keyphrase Research Tools, Report by Heather Lloyd-Martin. DOWNLOAD NOWBoot camps are specifically designed to help writers at all levels of their careers get to the next level, whether it’s finding your first gig, designing a better website, or breaking into new industries.

These boot camps each come with videos, as well as homework.

The ones that are offered live once a month also feature Q&A calls designed to answer some of the most important questions of members.

These Q&As; are also supplemented by forum discussions that let you connect with other members who may be interested in the same topics.

Podcasts and webinars are offered, too, and just by anybody, but by industry influencers.

And on a regular basis at that.

There’s also a very valuable series provided called “Ask the Editor,” which gives members important information and insight as to what exactly editors are looking for in writers.

Most importantly, the resources offered will help you overcome intimidation and fear, as well as increase your productivity and hone your overall skills.

If you need more tools, the Resource Library is waiting for you.

Here, you will find an archive of all the live streams totaling 300 hours of rich content.

That means you can still benefit from the live events even if you failed to make it to live presentations.

The Job Board

Another feature I love about the Den is the job board.

You would definitely agree with me if I said that finding gigs is one of the most difficult parts of being a freelance writer.

How much more finding good gigs.

But that’s where the Den’s job board stands out.

The job board itself is well moderated, which means you won’t find any gig that pays below $50 per post.

The listings are updated a couple of times a week, so it’s not flooded.

At the same time, you won’t have a shortage of gigs.

Whether it’s copywriting, editing, or content marketing projects you’re looking for, you can expect to find them at the job board.

How to Get Great Freelance ClientsWhat’s more is that the nature of the project is presented clearly, so you know what you’re getting into even before clicking on a listing.

I know I’ve already written a lot here, but believe me when I tell you that this is just the tip of the iceberg.

There are still a lot of corners we haven’t explored.

Pros And Cons

One thing I can say about Freelance Writers Den is how I wish I had found out about it sooner.

I have been freelancing for years already before I learned that something as good as FWD existed.

I read reviews and signed up after doing some research about the Den.

Iimmediately I Was welcomed into the community and have since then been a part of this wonderful family.

The courses are among the first things that caught my attention.

There are some that didn’t suit my taste, of course, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t find some that I was willing to invest my time and money in.

As I have mentioned earlier, there are boot camps, webinars, and podcasts that members can have instant access to for only $25 a month.

You won’t find an offer like this elsewhere.

Outside of the Den, you’ll have to spend $25 for a couple of courses.

Inside the Den, you can enjoy as many courses as you want for the same price.

And what’s not to love about the forums and the job board?

What I do love about the Freelance Writers Den: the job board and the forums.

The forums allow you to interact with other writers like you.

These are the very people who understand your unique situation and are the ones who have the insights and wisdom to help you find the resources and opportunities that you need.

I particularly appreciate that there’s a board in the forums dedicated to receiving critiques and feedback.

Step-by-Step Guide to Freelance Writing SuccessHere, you’ll have a dozen fresh eyes to check your work for you before sending it to a client, giving you constructive feedback to help you improve your work further.

And there’s the job board, of course.

Seldom will you find a non-lousy job board for freelance writers, but the Den’s job board tops them all.

At least for me.

The gigs you’ll find here are of excellent quality, are easy to filter, and have been screened to make sure they’re the best available jobs.

As for the things I don’t like very much about the Freelance Writers Den, I would say there’s not a lot.

This is not to say FWD is perfect.

Far from it.

Like any other platform, the Den has room for improvement.

The user interface, for instance, could use some help in terms of its intuitiveness.

Some pages can be quite overwhelming to the eyes, too. But overall, all the good stuff about FWD surely outweigh the not-so-good ones.

Conclusion

Your page looks absolutely great, there are tons of information and every topic is properly explained and very easy to understand.

the topic about, how much do content writers get paid? is very interesting to me as I write content for my page, and reading through your article has made me realize how easy it can be to earn an income writing content, you say that a content writer can earn a $1.00 per word written, that is great.

The example about Carol.P. gets me very motivated, I’d love to be a stay at home mom earning that much every month, but what do I write about? anything you say, at the moment I am very have writing about things related to my niche which I’ve started a month an a half ago and I am hopeful to make it a success.

The article about How to become a freelance writer, can inspire any reader, it would be great to be writing while lounging in any tropical island, I can tell this much, I think it al is everybody’s dream, this day and age, I think that everyone dreams about being their own boss and live a luxury life.

I did love your page and I did learn a lot, I also feel a lot of inspiration after having read it.

Thank you and don’t change what you’re doing, inspiring people is a great thing to do.

  2. What a great sounding community and so supportive. I totally agree with you about not trying to do it on your own and if writing is your dream then this could be perfect. I used to teach writing to 300 students in a correspondence course years ago and it was so much fun. There were some awesome natural writers but everyone needs to polish their skills. I will be having a look at this. Thanks for this positive review.
